The original painting, which is what you are looking at here, evidently had Magdalene in the robes of an important person...I don't know if any of you are fans of the Da Vinci code, or a student of matriarchal societies of old, but it was interesting to learn the painting that had been done over the top and has now been stripped away left Magdalene out.
